The Double Twist Stranding machine is one of the first machines developed by OM Lesmo during its long history in the wire & cable field. This design is well known for its single bow system that provides advantages in terms of energy consumption and replacement spare parts. Double Twist technology with its high torsion can guarantee improved production in a much shorter period of time. It is a machine that, when fitted with an adequate pay-off system, can continually operate 24 hours per day.
Double Twist Stranders can be used for the stranding of rigid copper, aluminum, aluminum alloy and the stranding of flexible copper from buncher or multiwire processes. Moreover it can be used for laying up of insulated cable with or without tape and for making sectoral cable of copper and aluminum.
OM Lesmo produces Double Twist Machines from 450 mm bobbin diameter up to 2500 mm bobbin diameter.
The DTO-2500 from OM Lesmo (Double Twist 2500 mm) is the largest produced double twister in todays market.
